De La Salle - Art Lecturer Talk and Presentation

"Aden had an exemplary reputation and came highly recommended when I was looking for a local commercial artist to come into the school at which I work (De La Salle, Basildon) and expand the vision of the pupils beyond the classroom.

Aden was invited to give a Year 9 assembly, discussing all aspects throughout his career, from how he started out, the business side and creative aspects. This was exciting, clear and entertaining, keeping all the Year 9 pupils engaged and interested throughout. Afterwards, he gave a workshop to my GCSE pupils involving more of a hands-on approach, solving spatial puzzles and creating small sculptural structures. Pupils thoroughly enjoyed the workshops as they were fun and educational, leaving a positive impression on them.

Due to the success, I got back in touch with Aden and organised an opportunity for a sculpture competition within the school. Pupils would design a sculpture that would be made and placed within the school. One would be chosen and made, by Aden, with the winning pupil given an opportunity to visit his studio as it was being made.

Aden gave a talk and tour of his studio to all pupils who were involved in the competition, giving pupils a chance to ask questions and see the impressive sculptures he and his team were working on. Aden spent a morning in the classroom with the pupils, discussing outdoor sculptures and what needs to be taken into consideration with their designs such as materials, scale and colour. Pupils created their sculpture designs on paper- one was then chosen to be made. Aden created that sculpture at his studio and the winning pupil was given a chance to visit the studio and view it being created.

The process was an invaluable experience for the pupils and gave them the chance to experience the process of making and designing art outside of the classroom environment. Aden made the process easy with his calm nature. The pupils felt very at ease to ask questions and everything was explained clearly.

Throughout the whole process Aden was exciting, clear and engaging. He had a unique ability to connect with all pupils, no matter what background. All pupils found him relatable and entertaining. He made Art seem fun and accessible for all. Most of all, I feel he opened up the world of Art and made it attainable to all and left a positive impression on everyone involved.

"When we were asked to produce the snoopy kennels for Fox we were not sure who we wanted to use to make them. After some research within the industry we were pointed towards Aden Hynes and sculpture studio. It is always a leap of faith to work with new people on any project, and in particular this one for Fox. After an initial meeting with Aden to talk about the project and being enthusiastically shown his previous work we were happy to proceed. Sculpture studios is a true family business and from the start we were looked after very well and always felt we had the whole team behind us throughout the process.
